Mairi MacLean UK I would like to sign this Visitors Book in honour of my uncle, William George Maclean (Billy), FAA/FX95866, a Petty Officer Airman with the Fleet Air Arm, from Glasgow, who gave his life aged just 20 on 23rd August 1944. He died at sea in the South of France landings, Operation Dragoon, where he was serving on the aircraft carrier HMS Emperor. His body never came home. He was Mentioned in Dispatches, though this is not mentioned in his entry in the Roll of Honour. May their names live for evermore.
